UCEI is launching three new energy Working Paper Series with new working papers produced by University of California (UC) researchers. The new
Working Paper Series are: 1) Fundamental Science of Energy, 2) Energy Development and Technology, and 3) Energy Policy and Economics. (See
descriptions below.) UCEI's goal in establishing these Working Paper Series is to disseminate UC energy research to a wide audience of both academic and
non-academic people and institutions, and to foster innovative energy research. (Only working papers by UC researchers are eligible for inclusion
in a Working Paper Series.) Email notices of new working papers will include the paper's abstract and a link to download the paper directly from the UCEI
web site. All working papers will be available free of charge.

Energy Policy and Economics Working Paper Series

The Energy Policy and Economics Working Paper Series will address the economics, politics, and regulatory topics associated with critical energy
issues. Papers in this series may come from all social science disciplines, and will examine topics such as the role of market forces in energy
industries, energy consumption behavior, and the political economy of energy regulation.

Energy Development and Technology Working Paper Series

The Energy Development and Technology Working Paper Series will stress applied research on scientific and technical energy problems. Research in
this series will examine topics such as energy resources and supply systems, energy use and conservation, and environmental and health effects.

Fundamental Science of Energy Working Paper Series

The Fundamental Science of Energy Working Paper Series will emphasize basic scientific questions underlying energy issues. Such issues of particular
importance to energy systems include, for example, combustion, heat transfer, and properties of materials used in energy systems.
